By accessing and using the Design Freedom Alliance ("DFA") website and submitting an application for membership, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

2. Membership Application Process

The Design Freedom Alliance employs a manual vetting process for all membership applications. By submitting an application, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • All information provided must be accurate, complete, and truthful.
  • DFA reserves the right to verify any and all information submitted.
  • Applications are reviewed within 48-72 hours, though this timeframe may vary.
  • DFA reserves the sole discretion to approve or reject any application without obligation to provide reasons for rejection.
  • False or misleading information may result in immediate application rejection or membership revocation.

3. Data Collection

When you submit an application, we collect the following information:

  • Personal identification information (name, email, location)
  • Professional credentials (company, job title, website, association memberships)
  • Industry grievances and professional concerns
  • Technical metadata including IP address, browser information, and referral source

This data is collected to verify applicant credentials and protect the integrity of our membership community.

4. Privacy Protection

DFA is committed to protecting member privacy. Information collected during the application process is used solely for verification purposes and will not be shared with third parties, including trade associations such as IIDA, ASID, or any affiliated organizations. 5. Right to Reject Applications

DFA reserves the absolute right to reject any application for any reason, including but not limited to:

  • Current or recent leadership, board, or executive positions with IIDA, ASID, or related industry associations
  • Inability to verify professional credentials
  • Use of non-professional email addresses
  • Incomplete or suspicious application information
  • Any activity that may pose a risk to the organization or its members

6. No Affiliation Disclaimer

The Design Freedom Alliance is an independent organization and is NOT affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to IIDA (International Interior Design Association), ASID (American Society of Interior Designers), or any other interior design trade association. Our organization exists to advocate for independent professionals who may be adversely affected by the policies of such organizations.

7. Member Conduct

Approved members agree to maintain the confidentiality of Alliance communications and strategies. Sharing sensitive organizational information with non-members, particularly representatives of trade associations, may result in immediate membership termination.

8. Modifications to Terms

DFA reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Continued use of our services following any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
